World Design Day
The World Design Day was organized by the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) in 2006. and began its history in the USA. The AIGA itself was founded in New York City in 1914 by its then 40 members, who were graphic designers, illustrators and publishers. The word Design comes from the English and stands for shaping and designs.
The origin goes back to the Latin word "designare", which - roughly translated - means to designate or draw.
The word Design has now established itself as a term almost everywhere in the world and stands for design creativity.
World Graphic Designers' Day
Since 1995 World Graphic Designers' Day celebrated. The ico-D - International Council of Graphic Design Associations (formerly Icograda) - was founded in London on April 27, 1963. As World umbrella organization for graphic design and visual communication, it showcases the work and importance of graphic designers around the world. into focus.

What makes a good graphic designer for you?

"Trends are irrelevant for any good artist who understands their craft. The active use of trends, not only in graphics, is predominantly toxic. They neglect real problem solving, individually tailored work and, in the worst case, are outdated again in the next season. It's expensive fun and many lose out. In the world of design and graphics, the external appearance should be a reflection of your own values, services, products and character. So why look like everyone else?" (Alex)
"I actively observe Trends related to design, whether on Instagram, in advertisements or in print products. But for sure also with my colleagues! I work on the observed trends into my work assignments as well as into my study projects. The trends are (according to my subjective perception) both in in the direction of "deliberately vintage/old school" as well as controversially in the direction of "hypermodern and clean (you can for example also well observed in fashion)“.
