2. i-worx Day ’22 – That’s how our workshop day was!

This is how i‑pointing continues to evolve!

On September 24th, 2022 it was that time again and the entire i‑pointing team of now almost 60 employees (!!!) gathered in the Munich office to spend an informative and wonderful day together! You can find out in the following article what kind of program our bosses came up with for the day and what the key learnings were.

This is how our team day started

In the morning there was a big welcome and lots were drawn so that four groups were formed. The workshops were then attended throughout the day like station work! First we had breakfast together and chatted, after all we hadn't seen some remote employees for a while. Then it started and the groups went to their respective spots.

Our three trainees were waiting for their colleagues at one station. There they put theirsprevious projects from the 1st year of trainingat i‑pointing. It was super exciting to have the great achievements and creative work explained, especially since the “audience” was involved the whole time through voting. By showing the respective designs it became clear how great the development of our trainees has already been and that we are really very proud to have them on our team!

Another workshop was “deep working”. We brought in someone external who worked through the following with us:What is deep working? What are the distractions and how do I achieve this phase of concentration?
First, we put together a list of the distractions that disrupt our everyday work. We clustered these and then considered which four distractions most people struggle with. These were in a group for example: Microsoft Teams, telephone, emails and technical problems. In small groups we were then asked to put together suggestions for each of these four topics on how these problems could be solved in the future and at the end we developed a joint list of rule suggestions.

Strengthening together for lunch

After completing the first two stations, we had lunch together with delicious salad bowls and both professional and, of course, personal exchanges. This should definitely not be missed out on this day! Finally, we have gained some new colleagues in the past few months, who have now met many of their team members for the first time. Our workshop days are also and above all about team building - because teamwork is the order of the day in everyday life at i‑pointing!

The break together was rounded off with delicious delicacies from an aspiring pastry chef, which definitely sweetened our break...

Our afternoon program

After the break we continued with the next station: Keyslide topic. We are a PowerPoint agency. And at a PowerPoint agency the focus is on designing presentation slides. At i‑pointing we don't just design (of course we can do that too), we are also happy to support you in the storytelling of your presentation! A keyslide reflects the core of your statement and is therefore by far the most important slide in your PowerPoint presentation. That's why our graphic designers were trained extensively on what a keyslide is, how you can recognize it and what it's good for.
KEYLEARNING: “A keyslide expresses what the speaker really wants!”In order to implement this perfectly, the following four pillars should be included:

/ Context
/ Consistency

At the fourth station, two colleagues introduced us to the topic of “digital accessibility”. We have recognized that this is an extremely important topic for us as a PowerPoint agency.Digital accessibility actually affects every person,even if we are not aware of it.It covers the areas: visuality, hearing, language, body as well as cognitive skills and learning.Since we have now dealt with the topic and familiarized ourselves with it for a few months, we now also offer checking and adapting the digital accessibility of your presentation!

What is a keyslide and how best to implement it?

The topic of digital accessibility is extremely important – and there is a lot to consider!

After four exciting and informative workshops, there was an “add-on” course for everyone, which they could choose from four topics in advance. Whether it's learning how to paint a Zentangle, an introduction to motion design, a look into the future or creating stop-motion films - our employees are so versatile that they are happy to pass on their specialist knowledge to each other and so great, interactive workshops always take place!

At the end of the day, a food truck visited us and provided us with delicious fries and burgers! The evening was brought to a fitting end with a cozy get-together. We are already looking forward to the next i-worx Day!
